Premier Bank International Introduced New Service Called Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Hargeisa, Somaliland



(Hargeisa:3 May 2016 -AlmisJournal) The Premier Bank International announced the launch of new service known as Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Hargeisa, the capital city of Somaliland Republic. The service would be a convenience for Somaliland Diaspora and foreign visitors who want to use their debit and/or credit cards while they are in Somaliland.
Premier Bank is an international bank that deals with other banks in many countries around the world. The bank has been registered with Somaliland Central Bank, and has been given a permit to transact business within the country which would help the local businesses and international organizations manage easily their finances 
This service was publicized in a ceremony held at the Ambassador Hotel in Hargeisa. Some of the attendees were the governor of the Somaliland Central Bank -Abdillahi Hassan Adan, senior officer from the Premier Bank – Dr. Abdiwely Sheikh Abdullah Suufi, and quite a number of enthusiast Somaliland Diaspora for such services.
First, Dr. Abdiwelly Sheikh Abdullah shared a brief description on how the Premier Bank would conduct its business and the opportunities that it would avail to the public: 
"Premier Bank is an Islamic bank that is registered with the Central Bank of the Republic of Somaliland. It officially opens its doors to the public on this day of May 3, 2016 with the introduction of the use of Master Card and VISA as well as cash dispensing kiosks widely called Automated Teller Machine (ATM) for the first time in Somaliland. These developments are in line with the objectives of the Central Bank of Somaliland which stresses the use of modern payment options widely available in most parts of the world today like the credit/debit/ATM cards. 
This type of service would enable our Diaspora and the foreign visitors to easily have access to their accounts at international banks when they are traveling in this region.  Also, it would play an important role in the education our students in Somaliland because the bank enables them to pay their tuition fees as they enroll any university in the world and take online classes in their homes. Also, it gives other people an easy access to international markets via the Internet when you can make your payments through our bank." 
Still Dr. Adbiwelly continue to say: 
"The bank will provide financial services that will benefit the public, small or large business owners, and various organizations operating in the country. It will also implement modern services and will take significant role in job creation, enhancing productivity, economic growth, and nation developments in general. " 
"ATM service is currently available at Ambassador Hotel, and the coming days many more ATMs will be installed in places easily accessible to the public. Premier Bank also will continue its efforts of bringing and introducing into Somaliland some of the most sophisticated financial system."
Director of the Central Bank of Somalia Abdullahi Hassan Aden has helped plunge welcomed the opening of the new, and that public services will increase to new foreign and Qurbojooguba cards can be paid out to them in the country. 
The governor of Somaliland Central Bank, Abdillahi Hassan Adam, expressed his appreciation in regard to the opening of the new bank. He confirmed that license to operate in Somaliland as a commercial bank was issued on january2016 after fulfilling all the required conditions. He also reiterated that Somaliland Central bank is encouraging other commercial banks to come Somaliland.
Yassin Sheikh, an expatriate, became the first person who had the chance to use the ATM and he said that he is happy to have such services in his home land. He pointed out that the Dubai was the closest place to get an ATM if one is needed.
